Fold&Form: DN600 Trenchless Potable Water Pipeline Repair
This project focuses on the trenchless repair of the DN600 potable water pipeline along Shangxiadian Road in Fuzhou City. The pipeline, which extends 1,100 meters, has shown significant signs of corrosion and localized damage due to long-term service.
Project Overview
Location: Fuzhou City, ChinaDate: August 2024
This project focuses on the trenchless repair of the DN600 potable water pipeline along Shangxiadian Road in Fuzhou City. The pipeline, which extends 1,100 meters, has shown significant signs of corrosion and localized damage due to long-term service.
Challenges: The pipeline's proximity to power conduits creates a confined working space. Additionally, sections exhibit settlement and undulations, along with bends that complicate the insertion process. Each repair segment spans 160 meters, adding to the complexity of the project.
To address these issues efficiently, a rapid trenchless pipe lining approach was recommended, followed by the application of a drinking water-grade Fold and Form PVC liner for comprehensive restoration.

Construction Process
1. High-Pressure Cleaning: The pipeline is thoroughly cleaned using high-pressure equipment to remove debris and buildup.

2. Material Preparation: All materials are organized and prepared on-site for effective installation.

3. Insulation and Heating: The materials are covered with an insulation membrane and subjected to steam heating to ensure optimal flexibility.

4. Lining Insertion: C-shaped or H-shaped liners are carefully pulled into the existing pipeline.

5. End Sealing: Professional sealing pipe plug are employed to block both ends of the pipeline securely.

6. Reheating and Pressurization: The lining is then reheated and pressurized to ensure a tight fit.

7. End Flange Upturning: The ends of the pipe are flange upturned to provide a secure seal.

Advantages of Thermoform Lining Technology
High Prefabrication: The prefabricated inner lining maintains the mechanical properties of the host materials, ensuring high construction quality.
Wide Applicability: This versatile technology is suitable for various pipeline materials and can accommodate irregular shapes, changes in diameter, and misaligned joints. It effectively addresses bends without creating wrinkles and is applicable in potable water supply mains, raw water transmission pipelines, and sewer force mains.
High Toughness: The thermoform PVC liner's excellent toughness makes it ideal for pipeline repairs in high-load traffic areas, near subway lines, and in seismic-prone regions.
Isotropic Solid Wall Pipes: The lining materials offer stable long-term performance, with smooth walls that resist friction and provide exceptional chemical corrosion resistance.
Drinking Water Certification: Our Fold-and-Form liners are certified for safe use in drinking water applications.
Case Summary
Economic Efficiency: The project benefits from low material transport and storage costs, minimal excavation and land use, convenient construction, and high repair efficiency.
Quality Assurance: The high toughness of the materials is particularly suited for pipelines subjected to dynamic loads, ensuring long-lasting results.
Environmental Responsibility: This project employs green construction methods, without toxic chemical emissions, ensuring safety and environmental protection.
Adaptability: Our technology effectively addresses various defects in the original pipeline, maintaining superior flow capacity even in curved sections.
